We present the seventh edition of the “Musical Evenings in the Medieval Village” that continues with the academic activity, becoming the main activity to be developed together with the pedagogical program.

The academic activity will take place on October 23, 24 and 25. In this edition, it is the choir and the figure of its director, who become, once again, the protagonists. To work correctly, the course will be divided into three levels: initiation, medium and advanced level. We will include choral work related to the school choir. Work directly related to the usual pedagogical activity that will be carried out in the schools of Trujillo and the nearest environment. This course will serve as a coexistence and forum for communication of choral musical experiences.

In the list of guest teachers, the name of a director who is part of the history of choral music in Spain appears, Jordi Casas. He will be in charge of guiding advanced level students. He has been director of the RTVE Choir, Orfeó Catalá, Chamber Choir of the Palau de la Música Catalana, Choir of the Community of Madrid or the Choir of the Teatro Real. He will focus his work on the secular polyphony of the Spanish Renaissance.

Completing the work of gesture and rehearsal technique is the director of the Extremadura Chamber Choir, a regular choir in the symphonic-choral repertoire of the Orchestra of Extremadura, Amaya Añúa. At the beginner and intermediate levels, students will be able to learn gesture in choral conducting, expand their notions of vocal technique applied to choir, improve the acquired choral technique and develop pedagogical tools for ensemble music. At the initial level and school choir level, Professor José Luis Porras, director of the choir and the youth choir of the Official Conservatory of Music of Cáceres.

We continue the successful pedagogical activity started in previous editions, bringing the cultural and musical content that is developed during the evenings to the students of schools, institutes, conservatories and music schools. On this occasion, the school choir will be the protagonist of this activity.
