Tribute to Jaime Lafuente Niño

On June 20, a meeting will be held in the Convento de la Coria in honor of D. Jaime Lafuente Niño in order to remember the life and career of someone who dedicated much of his work to the service of architecture, historical heritage and public administration.
Architect by vocation and public servant throughout his professional life, Jaime Lafuente Niño carried out discreet but highly relevant work in the conservation, rehabilitation and enhancement of Spanish historical heritage. His career was linked to important monumental restoration and heritage planning projects, including various actions related to the National Prado Museum, as well as interventions in historical complexes and buildings of special cultural value.
His relationship with Trujillo and with the Xavier de Salas Foundation had a special significance through the rehabilitation work of the Convento de la Coria and the collaboration maintained for years with Xavier de Salas and Carmen Ortueta in favor of the conservation and recovery of historical heritage.
A small exhibition of photographic memorabilia, the viewing of a short film, and some musical interventions are planned. In addition, two round tables will be held: The first will address his architectural legacy, his work in the field of heritage conservation and his contribution to public service. The second will be dedicated to family memory and the formation of the sensitivity that marked his human and professional career.
